Melinda DeTar graduated from Grace College and Seminary with her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In her undergraduate program at Anderson University, Melinda double majored in Family Science and Psychology. She is certified in Prepare and Enrich as well as Hope Focused therapy which are couples focused. She is eclectic in her approach using evidence based practices from Person-Centered, Gestalt, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), as well as Family Systems. Simply put: she views clients from a holistic perspective and understands each client’s journey is unique and has many factors to be considered. She has worked with depression, grief, hormonal issues, transitions, trauma, addictions, anxiety, and relational issues. She has served in various ministry capacities for over 20 years. Melinda embraces and enjoys life, nature walks, being with her family, reading and trying new experiences.
Melinda sees growth as a beautiful part of life’s journey. While growth is not always comfortable or simple and can at times be difficult to embrace, growth produces wonderful long-lasting effects in our lives.
